Vocational Discernment

Helping people explore their unique gifts, clarify their calling, and respond to what God may be awakening.

Questions of vocation tend to emerge at thresholds, when something that once fit no longer does, when a new possibility begins to stir, or when we simply find ourselves wondering about the alignment between our lives as they are and our ongoing sense of call. These moments can be exciting, but they can also leave us disoriented. We may sense something shifting before we have language for what it is or clarity about what comes next.

Via companions people through these seasons of discernment, helping them listen more carefully to their lives and to God. Rather than treating vocation as a puzzle with a single correct answer, we create space to pay attention to the convergence of desire, giftedness, experience, circumstance, relationships, and the needs of the world around us. Through conversation, reflection, prayer, and other discernment practices, we help people notice what seems to be coming alive, clarify the questions that matter most, and discern faithful ways of responding to what God may be awakening.

“Before I can tell my life what I want to do with it, I must listen to my life telling me who I am.”

Parker J. Palmer

“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet.”

Frederick Buechner
