Attentive accompaniment in learning to notice God's presence, invitations, and movements in daily life.
Spiritual direction is one of the most ancient expressions of ministry within Christianity. In fact, much of Jesus’ own ministry could be described as spiritual direction - the patient work of helping others grow in their ability to notice and tend to God’s presence, invitations, and love. We live in a time of constant noise, distraction, and frenzied activity. Beside this, it’s incredibly common for leaders to carry major questions, doubts, fears, and anxieties and have no one with whom they feel completely safe talking to. This is all just as true for ministry leaders as it is for marketplace leaders, often more so, and it’s not something we were ever meant to carry or navigate on our own.
The ministry of spiritual direction is about creating a safe, sacred space where slowing down, speaking freely, wondering out loud, and listening together make it possible to encounter God in ever-deepening and life-giving ways.

“God has ordained that there be spiritual directors among his people. This is the structure of love in practice.”
Richard Foster
“There are deepening hungers for maturity at the center, and spiritual direction is the classic carrier of wisdom both from and to that center.”
Eugene Peterson
